"Fine!" She shouted after him, frustrated, upset, but glad he was leaving. She started wringing out her skirt.

"Do not use that tone with me! You still deserve a slap across the face in return!" Benny said, looking over his shoulder towards her. He stopped walking, completely intending to follow through.

"Oh get over it! You shouldn't have grabbed me!" Rose shouted.

Benny stormed up to her and took her wrist. "I grabbed you! Not like I did anything inappropriate! You don't slap someone for grabbing!" He wiggled her arm around to emphasize he had her arm.

Rose slapped him.

Benny sort of knew it would come. She was quick to violence. It was almost as if on reflex that his hand came up and slapped her as well. Luckily it was more quick and light so as not to hurt her more than a sting on the cheek. He didn't want to really hurt her.

Rose looked at his shocked, and then tried to kick his knee. "Let go of me!"

Benny stared and made a grab for her leg to keep her from kicking him. "How about you settle down and stop hitting people who haven't done a single bad thing to you!"

Rose grasped when he grabbed her leg, offended, but then she lost her balance, fell back, and landed on her back side. "You touchin' me is a bad thing! How about you just go and leave me be, eh?!"

Benny blinked when she fell and laughed. "Maybe when you actually learn something !"
